Belmont Loft Co. demonstrates the successful redevelopment of a brownfield site in the Belmont neighborhood of Charlottesville. Designed by architect Bruce Wardell, AIA, IFRAA, two five-story buildings on the site combine to provide a total of 42 loft-style condominiums. Belmont Loft Co. was one of the first to offer this product type in the city, and helped pioneer the renaissance of the Belmont neighborhood. The warehouse-style aesthetics of each condominium, including polished concrete and bamboo flooring, flow through open floor plans in studio to three-bedroom penthouse style units. The exterior of the building rests in a park-like setting of almost three acres, and includes an area for community gardens.
